Business concept / purpose of the company
RailAway is positioned as the leading provider of leisure day trip and multi-day excursion offers, with additional services in Switzerland for individual and group passengers. As a tourist marketing organisation, RailAway is responsible for conception, purchase, marketing and production for SBB and public transport. RailAway is the trademark for attractive, varied and low-price leisure experiences for SBB and licensed transport companies.

Vision
RailAway keeps Switzerland moving, as a country for holidays and leisure activities using public transport, thereby increasing the traffic revenue from public transport by raising the modal split. By 2015 RailAway will be generating an annual turnover of 100 million via leisure offers.

Our organisation
62 employees at two different locations are committed to the success of RailAway every day. The head office is in Lucerne and there is another branch in Lausanne.

Management
The management of RailAway AG consists of the CEO, the managers of the Finance / Personnel, Marketing and Staff departments, and the heads of the business units. The management team meets every 14 days and holds a closed meeting every quarter.

Our salespoints
With around 450 stations, RailAway has the densest sales network in Swiss tourism. This includes all salespoints of SBB and the largest licensed transport companies. The most frequently booked leisure offers are also available at SBB ticket machines.
RailAway AG wins «Milestone 2005»
This prize is awarded every year by the trade journal, «hotel+tourismus revue», in conjunction with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Swiss Tourism Association. The CEO of RailAway, René Kamer, accepted the prize for an «outstanding project» in the presence of more than 400 people from the realms of tourism, business and politics.

How to find us
Our offices are in the train station of Lucerne situated next to track 3 in the 5t floor. The entrance is located directly in front of the copy shop.
